Swarovski pearls are just like perfect and VERY expensive Akoya pearls except they are not as finicky. It is also resistant to perspiration, UV rays, perfumes, scratches and washing and warms to the skin like real pearls do. 

Unlike synthetic glass pearls, Swarovski's crystal faux pearls have a leaded crystal core that makes them heavier, and Swarovski's pearl coating is similar to a natural pearl lustre and is consistent in color.

NOTE:

Swarovski products are made from lead crystal.

Jewelry with larger quantities of lead based items should be only worn by adults.

If parents allow their children (young or older) to wear jewelry, they should monitor their children to ensure jewelry is not placed in their mouths.

Q. Can lead be absorbed through the skin?

A. Exposure to lead occurs mainly from ingestion, such as eating or putting objects into the mouth, putting young children particularly at risk. 

However, absorption of lead through the skin from wearing jewelry is not likely to contribute to exposures of concern.
